Name: Flavio
My name is Flavio Greco ( the Greek, even if I have no connections there...)born in Italy, Turin, on October 1975 (congratulations for the ones good in math for figuring this out on ur own..).
I am affected by the travel bug, I think it got me when I spent one year as exchange student in the States, school year 92-93, yez...a long time ago.
Since then I set a target to put at least a foot on each of the continent before I reach 30....So here I am seeking my target!
I have been living in Dublin for the past 6 years.
I moved there to escape the military service, that used to be mandatory. The plan was to stay 3 years and then move on, but I liked the place, met loads of friend including Ken my travel mate, and I stayed until the end of June of this year, when I started this trip.....

I know I became lazy, it's the age
Well actually is that we are not doing very much besides living a regular life of 2 professional unemployed: sleep, TV, sun bathing, reading, cooking, drinking....
As for the last activities I would highlight: a very nice underwater aquarium, http://www.kellytarltons.co.nz/home/, and then a second visit to the Auckland museum where at the moment they have an exhibition on Leonardo Da Vinci, http://www.aucklandmuseum.com/.
For the rest I think I explored all the beaches close to the city centre and now it's time to move outside Auckland.
Today we also had the luck to assist to the yearly Santa's Parade along with couple hundred thousand of people in the city center: the Christmas hype is officially started !

Ciao
Well our beloved readers here we are again....
I know I've been very lazy lately, but what the heck when u see the sun outside and all the parks in town it's hard to stay in front of a pc
.
In the last weeks we intensified our retired life style, by spending more time on the benches (or on the grass, not smoking it )until the last ray of sun, watching some good old TV, and reading. Ken also managed to visit the south Island, while I stayed in Auckland job hunting.
The hunt is going ok, in the sense that I manage to do interviews every week, and here the economy is definately booming with loads of vacancies....We'll see how it goes
Basically we have no major news, besides some knowledge about the sites u should see while in Auckland, where the bars are, where to shops...all useful tips for the foreigner
Now a quick cultural info: do u know why the New Zealanders are called Kiwi?....Well it's not because of the fruit.....
The name come from the animal u can see below:
